Moose safari in Sweden / Elchsafari in Schweden

One of the most fun days that we had during our holidays in Sweden, was when we did a moose safari. Well in fact it wasn't a real safari. The moose are in a big compound, you pay a little something and then there is this tractor (yes, right, that's what our son liked most about it) with several trailers. You can sit in or on (!!) the trailers. Everybody gets some leeves, apples etc. and then the whole "train" goes inside. The moose already now that this is when they get some nice food and thus all come to get their share. It's super funny. The moose are calm and friendly animals, but they really, really want that food. It took only seconds and they had found everything eatable in each trailer! It was such a fun and nice experience to have these big animals so close, to be able to stroke and feed them. And the very best thing? They even kiss you!

Einer der tollsten Tage, die wir während unserer Schwedenreise erlebten, war der als wir auf einer Elchsafari waren. Naja, eine echte Safari war's eigentlich nicht. Die Elche leben in einem großen Gehege, man zahlt ein bißchen was und dann kommt der große Traktor (ja, auch für unseren Sohn gab's was tolles!) mit mehreren Anhängern. Man kann in oder auf (!!) den Anhängern sitzen. Jeder kriegt noch Blätter, Äpfel oder ähnliches und dann fährt der ganze Zug ins Gehege. Die Elche wissen natürlich, dass da was für sie zum essen kommt und kommen deshalb alle gleich zum Zug. Total witzig. Die Elche sind sehr ruhige und freundliche Tiere, aber sie wollen eben wirklich dieses Futter. Es hat nur wenige Sekunden gedauert und sie haben alles gegessen was es in den ganzen Wagoons gab ;) War wirklich total witzig diese großen Tiere so nah bei sich zu haben, sie zu streicheln und zu füttern. Und das allerbeste? Der Spruch ich glaub mich knutscht ein Elch bekommt eine völlig neue Bedeutung!

 

As was the case at all places that we visited, there also was a little playground, a wooden moose to take pics and a small café. Sweden really is a dream with kids!

Wie überall gibt's natürlich auch hier noch einen kleinen Spielplatz, einen Elch zum draufsitzen und ein kleines Café. Schweden ist einfach das Kindertraumland schlechthin!
