Abilmente Makes 3 & 4: Two Julia Sweaters for best friends / Genäht auf der Abilmente Nr 3 und 4: Zwei Juliasweater für beste Freundinnen

 

Finally I can show you two further garments that I sewed during Abilmente. While organising the giveaway for the fair, I also was in contact with Nosh. As you know they gave away three fabric bundles (for girls, boys and women), but they also offered me some fabric to sew something at Abilmente. I chose Click and the corresponding stripes (not available anymore) and chose to sew two sweaters for my daughter R and her very best friend S.

Endlich kann ich euch noch zwei weitere Teile zeigen, die ich auf der Abilmente genäht habe. Als ich im Vorfeld der Messe das große Gewinnspiel organisiert habe, hatte ich auch Kontakt zu Nosh. Wie ihr wisst haben sie jeweils ein Stoffpaket für Jungs, Mädels und Frauen zur Verfügung gestellt. Doch nicht nur das. Sie haben mir außerdem zwei Meter ihrer wunderbaren Stoffe zum Vernähen für die Messe geschickt. Ich hab mir Click und die dazupassenden Streifen (leider nicht mehr im Shop) ausgesucht und hatte von Anfang an vor daraus zwei tolle Julia sweater für meine Tochter R und ihre beste Freundin S zu nähen.

Habt ihr schon mal was von der Sew Geeky Serie gehört? Definitiv eine der coolsten Blogserien bei der sich am 25. jedes Monats ein Haufen Geeks zusammen tut und zu einem Thema etwas näht. Was gab's nicht schon alles: StarWars, Studio Ghibli, Marvel vs. DC… Ausgedacht haben sich das ganze Ari von MaxCalifornia und Kat von Sew Chibi. Beides sind Blogs denen man einfach folgen MUSS wenn man gern mal was anderes, was verrücktes, was eigenes sehen will und gern auch mal persönliches liest. Ari hab ich auch im Rahmen meiner Sew Fantastic Blogs Reihe interviewt.

Have you heard of Sew Geeky? Pretty much one of the coolest blog series ever. The 25th of each month several geeks get virtually together to sew something to a geeky theme. There was Star Wars, Studio Ghibli, Marvel vs DC .. The whole thing is brainwork of Ari from Max California and Kat from Sew Chibi which I'm sure you all know or if not you probably live behind the moon and aren't interested in any things geeky, right? Well if you still are these are your go to blogs. You can find anything crazy, special, different there, mixed with some to the heart writing. I also interviewed Ari for my Sew Fantastic Blogs Series.

Constant: Change Blog Tour

Renee from Nearest the Pin and Jenya from While she was sleeping had the idea for a fun new blog series. It is called „Constant: Change“. As women and mothers our life changes constantly. Family, our marriage, work, kindergarten etc. I just have to look at my little son: As soon as I understand that the sound „tractor“ doesn't only mean tractor, but also „yoghurt“, he starts to say the right word... Well, the series is about us embracing change in our life and doing so with some sewing.

Renee vom Blog Nearest the Pin und Jenya von While she was sleeping (beide aus Australien) hatten die wunderbare Idee eine Blogserie zum Thema „ständiger Wechsel“ zu machen. Als Frauen und Mütter ändert sich unser Leben ja ständig. Famile, Ehe, Arbeit, Kindergarten etc. Ich muss nur meinen kleinen Sohn anschauen. Kaum hab ich kapiert, dass „Traktor“ nicht nur Traktor, sondern auch Jogurt heißt, schon sagt er das richtige Word. In der Blogserie geht’s darum diesen Wechsel in unserm Leben willkommen zu heißen und dazu etwas zu nähen.

RUMS: Twist it Probenähen / Pattern tester for the twist it blouse by schneidernmeistern

  

Als Monika von Schneidernmeistern zum Probenähen aufrief, hab ich nicht lang gezögert obwohl das Probenähen genau in die Zeit vor der Abilmente fiel. Im ersten Moment mag man bei der Blues ja meinen, dass sie nur eine "normale" locker sitzende Bluse ist. Aber ein Blick auf den Schnitt zeigt, dass das nicht so ist. Es gibt nämlich, außer Beleg und Armbündchen nur ein einziges Schnittteil, das Vorder- und Rückteil sowie Ärmel enthält. Außerdem gibt's eigentlich kein Vorne und Hinten, da man die Bluse drehen kann wie's einem beliebt.

I didn't hesitate very long when Monika from schneidernmeistern called for testers for her new blouse pattern, "twist it" even though the testing was right before Abilmente. At first sight you might think that this is just a "normal" loose-fitting blouse. Well, it definitely is not. There is only one "real" pattern piece (besides the facing and sleeve band). Both the front, the sleeve and the back are all in one piece. And the blouse can be "twisted" or rather turned. There isn't a real "front". You can wear it either way round.

Already in July one of my best friends, Dea, had her second child, a boy. Dea and I met already when we were 10 years old at the first day of "Gymnasium" (i.e. more or less middle and high school). Later Dea told me what she thought when she saw me for the first time. I was sitting next to another girl and Dea thought "Oh, she seems so nice, but as I'm not very lucky, I'll most likely become friends with the other girl!"

Schon im Juli hat eine meiner besten Freundinnen, Dea, ihr zweites Kind, einen Jungen bekommen. Dea und ich haben uns schon kennengelernt als wir beide 10 Jahre alt waren, am ersten Tag am Gymnasium. Später hat Dea mir erzählt was sie sich dachte als sie mich das erste Mal sah während ich gerade mit einem anderen Mädchen sprach: "Oh, die sieht aber nett aus. Naja, bei meinem Glück wird die andere meine Freundin!"

Abilmente Make Nr 2: Louisa dress / Genäht auf der Abilmente Nr 2.: Louisa Kleid

 

Last week I showed you already the Lotta dress that I sewed for Marte's daughter Nore during Abilmente. Of course I couldn't only sew a dress for Nore. Wouldn't be fair if I left one of the twins without a dress, right? I sewed a Louisa dress for Lisa. The pattern includes many different variations for the back. Due to the circumstances at the fair (sewing for some minutes here and there, not so easy to concentrate), I chose the most basic version. As I mentioned already last week, Marte brought some fabric combinations with her to the fair and we then decided together which one I was going to sew. 

Letzte Woche hab ich euch ja schon das Lotta Kleid gezeigt, dass ich für Martes Tochter Nore während der Abilmente genäht habe. Natürlich konnte ich nicht nur etwas für Nore nähen. Wär schließlich ziemlich unfair wenn nur ein Zwillling was neues bekommt... Deshalb gab's noch eine Louisa für Lisa. Der Schnitt enthält verschiedene Varianten für den Rücken. Doch aufgrund der Umstände an der Messe (ich wurde ja oft unterbrochen und konnte mich nicht so lange konzentrieren), hab ich mich für die einfachste Variante entschieden. Wie letzte Woche schon erwähnt, hat Marte verschiedene Stoffkombinationen auf die Messe mitgebracht und ich hab mich dann entschieden welche ich nähen wollte.

I do love me some colour – and so do my kids. Thus, I sewed two shirts for them that play with the color-blocking trend. Well, is it still a trend? Many people might already be over it, but I still like it!

Ich mag Farben – und auch meine Kinder finden Farbe gut. Deshalb hab ich zwei T-Shirts für die beiden genäht, die vom Color-blocking Trend inspiriert sind. Naja, ist das überhaupt noch ein Trend? Viele sind damit wahrscheinlich schon durch, aber mir gefällt's immer noch!
